16 OZ Fighting Robot
The concept of Anty Main seemed like a good idea. Put a powerful gear driven saw blade on a tiny one pound robot. The blade spins at 3000 RPM and does a good job of destroying plastic toy cars. When in battle though Anty Maim proved to be unstable. The torque of the saw blade made it impossible to control and easy to flip over on its side. Maim left some good saw marks in both the Battle Ants and SOZ Bots arenas while on it's side.Competitions

Anty Maim 2.0
The new version of Anty Maim incorporates many improvements over the old version. The wheels are centered on the frame for better control. The center of gravity has been moved rearward to take weight off of the blade. The slow servo drive motors have been replaced with speedy drivetrains bashed from a BattleBots RC toy.
The new Maim is faster, more maneuverable and much harder to flip or push over.
Anty Maim 2.0 will be competing at Steel Conflict August 24th 2002 Pomona, California.
