ELECTRONICS
The electronics consist
of two subsystems. The recovery system and the staging system. Both
systems are mounted on the same 9X5" board. The board slides
into the airframe through an access hatch.
RECOVERY ELECTRONICS
The recovery elctronics
consist of one Olsen FCP-M2 altimeter. and one Olsen FCP-M1/G
altimeter. Each altimeter is wired to a seperate ejection charge
in the parachute bay. The altimeters are armed by removing a safety
wire that is inserted into the side of the airframe. The system
is safed when the wire is in place.
Flight Package
Adept ES236 Stager
- FCP-M2 altimeter - FCP-M1/G altimeter - Pratt ECS-2B
STAGING ELECTRONICS
The staging electronics
consist of three components. An Adept ES236 Dual Sequential Electronic
stager, A 7.5 Volt rechargeable NI CAD battery pack and a solid
state relay. When the central motor ends it's burn the ES236 triggers
the relay which in turn sends 7.5 volts from the battery pack
to the four ignitors in the second stage motors.
EMERGENCY BACKUP
SYSTEM
In addition to the
two redundant altimeters there is a Pratt ECS-2B remote event
system controlling both ejection and staging in the event of either
altimeter or ES236 failure durring flight.
